The efforts of current political parties, especially PLM-N, are oriented towards betterment of educational facilities and environment. Prime Minister Mr. Nawaz Sharif announced six new schemes for improving educational standards and decreasing unemployment among youth in Pakistan. Prime Minister Laptop scheme is best among all six schemes for students of universities and colleges in Pakistan. This scheme is focused on enhancing research and development in educational sectors so as to move ahead in international rankings of great universities. This scheme will go a long way in attracting youth towards contributing positively in development of Pakistan and understanding their role as future leaders of the nation.

During previous tenure of Government, the focus of this scheme was only Punjab. Now Prime Minister Laptop scheme is introduced throughout the country with equal opportunity for everyone satisfying PM laptop scheme criteria.

Prime Minister Laptop Scheme 2013 Criteria

Students belonging to HEC recognized universities and institutions are eligible for getting laptop without any discrimination of sex or region. You can find the list of HEC recognized institutes from Higher Education Commission official site. The laptops will be provided to all postgraduate and doctoral students whereas half of the undergraduate students will be eligible for this scheme. PM Laptop scheme 2013 criteria are transparent and based on equal opportunities for everyone.

Cost of Laptop

The cost of Laptops will totally depend on their specifications made by the Government allocated manufacturers. However, rough estimate is around Rs. 40000 per Laptop.

Total Laptops in Scheme

Total 100,000 free laptops will be distributed among students throughout Pakistan.

Budget Allocation for Laptop Scheme 2013

Around 4 Billion rupees have been allocated to meet expenses on manufacturing and distribution of Laptops among deserving candidates.

Executing Agency

Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan will play a key role in administration of Prime Minister Laptop scheme. Punjab Government has successfully launched this scheme in the past for Punjab students only. Now it is need of the hour to replicate these efforts to whole country.

Local Manufacturing

Pakistan Government is negotiating with local Laptop companies for their assembly to be done within Pakistan to reduce cost per each Laptop.

How to Apply for Prime Minister Laptop Scheme 2013?

Government of Pakistan is pondering over finalizing structure and application process for Laptop scheme 2013. Negotiations are being carried out with local Laptop manufacturers to satisfy the demands of this scheme throughout the country. It is most probable that HEC will itself nominate the deserving candidates for distribution of Laptops considering their educational qualifications and academic merit. HEC may request the higher authorities of recognized institutions for nominating their brilliant students for getting Laptops under this scheme.     Hello sir my name is Muhammad Usman and my cell no is 03425111606 i have just completed my D-A-E in Information Technology…Sir i deeply admire your efforts for education in Panjab and also i admire your concern specially with students the needy ones to help them study and become a good hand in progress of Pakistan..sir with due respect my only request to you is that you should improve the system of the distribution of these laptops so that they can only be in the hands of Worthy students i mean i studied three years in collage and through out i saw a lot of students who are studying information technology but the cant even afford a simple Computer… their Parents barely afford their collage fee so instead of giving these laptops to Commerce university students i think you should give it to Information Technology students specially which are doing D-A-E thats all sir…..on behalf of All information Technology students we will very thankful to you ….
